Legal Research: Analyzing case laws related to anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominant position.
Drafting: assisting in the preparation of case summaries, notes, and internal memos.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)
The application process is offline/email-based and requires careful attention to detail.
Step 1: Download the Application Form
Visit the official CCI website (cci.gov.in) and navigate to the “Internships” section to download the prescribed application format.
Step 2: Get a Recommendation Letter
You must have a recommendation letter from the Dean/Principal/HOD of your college.
- Tip: The letter should certify your current year of study and your “good academic standing.”
Step 3: Write Your Statement of Purpose (SOP)
You need to submit an SOP (approx. 200 words).
- What to include: Why you are interested in Competition Law, any relevant electives you have taken, and what you hope to learn at CCI.
Step 4: Submission
Applications must reach the CCI office by the 1st of the preceding month. (e.g., For a February internship, the application must reach by January 1st. Therefore, you should send it by December 30th to account for postal delays).
Physical Submission (Preferred): Send the hard copy to: The Secretary, Competition Commission of India, 10th Floor, Office Block, Tower-1, Ring Road (Opposite AIIMS), Kidwai Nagar (East), New Delhi-110023. (Superscribe the envelope: “Application for Internship for [Month/Year]”)
Email Submission: You may also email the scanned application to: [email protected] (Check the latest notification to confirm if email-only applications are currently being accepted).
Selection Strategy: How to Get In?
Since there are only 15 seats, “First Come, First Served” does not apply—it is merit-based.
Grades Matter: High academic scores in your law papers give you an edge.
SOP is Key: Avoid generic SOPs. Mention specific CCI cases (like the Google Android ruling or Amazon antitrust cases) to show you track their work.
University Brand: While open to all, students from premier National Law Universities (NLUs) often have a slight advantage, so your SOP must shine if you are from a traditional university.
Important Dates
Application Deadline: Your application should ideally be dispatched by December 30, 2025, to ensure it reaches the CCI desk before the 1st of the next month.
Internship Start Date: 1st working day of the month (e.g., February 2nd, 2026).
