The wait is finally over for thousands of law graduates across the country. The Bar Council of India (BCI) has officially declared the results for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XX (20) today, January 7, 2026.
This year’s results come with several interesting updates, including a significant pass percentage and adjustments to the total marks due to withdrawn questions. Performance Trends
Gender-wise: Female candidates outshone their male counterparts with a pass rate of 71.01%, while male candidates recorded a 68.3% pass rate.
State-wise: Tamil Nadu recorded the highest pass rate in the country, while Uttar Pradesh contributed the highest number of qualified lawyers.
How to Check Your AIBE 20 Result
Candidates can now access their scorecards online through the official BCI portal. Follow these steps to download your result:
Visit the Official Website: Go to allindiabarexamination.com.
Find the Result Link: Click on the “AIBE XX Result” tab or the scrolling notification on the homepage.
Enter Credentials: Log in using your Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth.
View Scorecard: Once logged in, your qualifying status (Pass/Fail) and marks will be displayed.
Download & Print: Ensure you save a digital copy and take a printout for your records, as this is a vital document for obtaining your CoP.
Adjusted Qualifying Marks & Cut-off
Following the review of the provisional answer key, the BCI Monitoring Committee (headed by former Supreme Court Justice Hima Kohli) decided to withdraw 5 questions that were found to be erroneous. Consequently, the final evaluation was conducted out of 95 marks instead of 100.

What Happens After Qualifying?
Qualifying the AIBE is a mandatory milestone for any law graduate to practice law in India. Now that the results are out:
Certificate of Practice (CoP): Successful candidates will be eligible to receive their CoP. While the digital version may be available on the ‘AIBE’ app later, the physical certificates are typically distributed through the respective State Bar Councils.
Validity: Once you receive your CoP, your provisional enrollment becomes permanent, and you are authorized to practice in any court across India.
